Health & Fitness voiceovers include many genres like online videos, commercials, infomercials, medical narration, app content, and e-learning to name just a few, and can inspire major lifestyle changes on a personal level or a huge global scale, and choosing the right voice can play a crucial role in conveying important information, providing clear instructions and cues, offering guidance, motivating behavior change, and creating engaging interactive experiences across various platforms and formats.
Many of us depend on a motivational and knowledgeable voice in our own lives to help us stay informed, focused, and on track. Just like a friend, coach, health care professional, or mentor a voiceover can inspire listeners to adopt healthy habits, set fitness goals, overcome challenges, and stay committed to their wellness journey.
It’s often easier to hear important information, tips, and advice centered around these topics from a caring friend, a positive cheerleader, or a relatable expert, rather than an impersonal, condescending, or boring authority figure.
Sometimes our own encouraging inner words push us in a healthier direction. This is certainly true for me. A voice actor can represent that inner voice as well.
Healthcare providers and medical schools may prefer a more personal approach when sharing new information and insights with patients and peers, making complicated content easier to understand, retain, and relate to. I share the goal of finding the right tone, pace, and emphasis to keep listeners from mentally tuning out because I can relate to being a listener in those situations too.
There are so many ways that great medical narration can make complicated information much easier to understand.
A voice that is relatable to a specific community can also make a huge difference in how a health message is received or believed. A worldwide crisis like the coronavirus pandemic has shown us the importance of making sure we represent and reach as many diverse audiences as possible to promote correct, and vetted health and fitness information that reaches the ears of those who need to hear it and is well-received, believed, and ultimately benefitted from.
