Not only are we celebrating National Coding Week, but it’s Codi’s Birthday!
Codi Newton is a super creative young innovator with a huge imagination. He always has a million and one new ideas popping up in his brain so of course his birthday plans will be EPIC! *cue the lasers* 🤣
I am the voice of Codi in the Animated YouTube Kids Series Cozmo and Friends.
Codi has been so much fun to give a voice to and you can catch more of his adventures with his awesome robot Cozmo in this fun Animated STEM webseries!
National Coding Week is a great time to bring coding and digital literacy to a younger audience in a fun and engaging way, and this animated web series does exactly that! Cozmo the Toy Robot already promotes programmable play and exploration with both young boys and girls equally. Codi represents those early learners, and young experts, mastering coding lessons that will stay with them as they grow.
It is also great to see Codi with such a super supportive parent, Nate, which is a great model for parents of innovative kid viewers, even though Cozmo and Codi’s antics can sometimes be hilariously chaotic and unusually end in a crazy mess.
Every mistake is an opportunity to learn and develop!
I love how this show embraces excitement about coding and STEM and understanding concepts via short animated episodes in a fun, engaging way. As a voice actor, each mini adventure has also been so much fun to perform. As a person who in High School majored in Theater and minored in Science, this series was right up my alley.
I also love that I got to voice another smart and creative Black Boy Character in this diverse cast, hopefully reflecting young black coders who are thankfully celebrated more now in kids’ content. As an African American voice actor, it brings me joy to authentically represent African American kid characters in children’s media.
